OUR MISSION
SAFE Collective aim to create opportunities for disadvantaged young people, through providing a diverse variety of music and art workshops, creative activities and life and survival skills, promoting self development and raising awareness of important issues, whilst imparting new skills, increasing self esteem, lowering drug abuse and crime rates, and uniting communities with young people at the heart of them, living productive and fulfilling lives, empowered with a renewed sense of belonging, responsibility and hope for the future.
After working in prisons and with various drug agencies, teaching music, music technology and life skills to young offenders and recovering addicts, Jen Wilson was inspired to set up her own organisation, in order to inspire and ‘catch’ young people before they fell into the world of drugs and the net of the prison system. She has a passion and compassion to empower young people to be all they can, live life to the full and give the world everything they’ve got! It is from this vision that SAFE Collective was born.

SAFE COLLECTIVE
SAFE Collective consist of a team of young trainee volunteers and mentors, aged 16-25, including young qualified Youth Workers, Workshop Leaders and Alternative Therapists; and a team of Social Workers, Drugs Workers and Counsellors to supervise all our activities.
SAFE COLLECTIVE work with Drug agencies and various Youth organisations. We are not a treatment service but we aim to provide a complete holistic service. We offer advice, referral into alternative treatments and provide access to an array of creative activities, training opportunities and work placements; encouraging and supporting young people to take the right steps towards making positive life changes. We deliver diverse workshops, hold talks and discussions, and provide advice and information on all aspects of life, including cleansing and remineralising the body, and healthy, conscious living, to at risk young people, in a variety of settings and locations. Many of our workshops are led by our young people. All our staff and volunteers are CRB checked.
With ex-users at the forefront of many or our activities, our clients receive firsthand knowledge and advice from people who know best how to turn their life around!

YOUTH COUNCIL
In 2009, a group of young SAFE Collective volunteers, aged 16-25, formed a Youth Council in the Bath and Norton Radstock areas, to become a voice for local young people, in order to have an influence on events in their area. The Youth Council were at the heart of many of SAFE Collectives decision making processes, and the young people involved played a prominent part in organising and running our events and activities.
